5TH COLOMBIAN CONGRESS - BOGOTA

At the end of the year 2005 vice-president of IRO, Mr. Dusan Necak, phoned Sara and offered that her and Cap demonstrate search and rescue work, together with five more handlers and their dogs from different European countries, at the 5th Colombian congress in South America (Bogota). Although the offer sounded very attractive and Sara would have been honoured to represent IRO so far away from home, she had to decline. At the time of the Congress Sara was 7 months pregnant and such a long flight, hard work, another climate etc. would be quite risky for the baby.

But she told Mr. Necak that we have some great SAR border collies in our Club and that they would not regret it if they sent one of them. So the IRO board made a good decision and as Cap's replacement, on Sara's suggestion, sent Mawlch Gunna and her owner Mirela to Colombia. Here you can read more about their success and experiences.
