TROFEO FRONTLINE COMBO - MONZA
10/05/2009

At the big competition in Monza, Italy, sponsored by Frontline, I participated with Cita and Myf.

Cita

In this competition only dogs from A3 class could participate. Agility and jumping runs are calculated together, like at the AWC. The first three places in the overall competition receive prize money.
This year there were about 130 dogs in Large category.

Cita and I

After jumping run I was placed really well - I was 7th with Cita and 2nd with Myf (first was Silas Boogk from Germany). Running of agility course was in reverse order, so my dogs could rest al lot (which was good, because we were on the trip for four day: first we went to Rome because of mating of Syl, then I was judging in Lecco and then this competition in Monza).

Myf

My dogs rested well and ran well too, but, unfortunately, I wasn't so good. In agility run with Cita I slipped twice and I was too late at the dogwalk's down contact, which, then, Cita jumped with pleasure :-). After she jumped the contact zone I couldn't keep my nerves and keep Cita of the wrong hole of the tunnel, so we were DK.

Cita and I

With Myf I was pushing too much, in haste I made strange change after the slalom so she re-entered slalom... another DK.
I had my chance and I blow it... but even that sounds better than unpopular 4th place in overall placement, which I gain with Cap two years ago :-) (results).

JUDGING IN ITALY
09/05/2009

I was invited to judge the competition organized by Gruppo Cinofilo Lecchese. The competition was held in one of the halls of the Fair in Lecco. Surface was very good artificial grass.
The competition was counted as one of Italian qualifications for going to European Open in Nederland this year.
My kind hosts were Anna Wilkinson and her agility coach Giuseppe Pinchetti.
I was judging jumping 3, agility 2 and agility 1 runs.

3RD COMPETITION FOR SLOVENIAN CHAMPIONSHIP - PTUJ
02/05/2009

At the competition in Ptuj I ran with Cita and Myf.

Cita

In agility run I was DK with both; Cita knocked first bar, so I used that run for contact zones training, and Myf missed one before last jump because of my handling mistake (didn't matter much, we missed the contact on A-frame anyway :-)).

Mawlch Sky

In jumping my eleven-years-old Cita ran really great and she won 3rd place. Myf was the fastest in that run, but she knocked one bar.

Sisters - Sian, Sky and Syl

In jumping run of A2 Large class 1st place was won by Mario and his Sky, and in jumping run of A1 Large class the winner was my Hungarian friend János with Moss' son, Peace. Sincere congratulations! (results)

3RD COMPETITION FOR CROATIAN CHAMPIONSHIP - VARAZDIN
26/04/2009

At the 3rd competition for Croatian Championship, held in Varazdin, I ran with Cita and Myf.
With Myf I was 2nd in agility run and 1st in jumping run.

Myf

In agility run Cita knocked one bar and in jumping run she knocked two. But she ran really well and fast.
Second placed in A3 Large class was Tanja Janes with Rudi, and third Andreja Jakopic with Myf's dam Meg.
In A2 Large class 1st place was won by Jasna Sen with Mawlch Grom, Rudi's father. Sincere congratulations! (results)

2ND COMPETITION FOR SLOVENIAN CHAMPIONSHIP - AJDOVSCINA
25/04/2009

At the competition in Ajdovscina I wasn't run well neither with Cita nor with Myf (I was DK with both).
As this competition was part of Slovenian qualifications for national team, I was happy that in A3 Large class Polona Bonac won 2nd place in agility run with her Mawlch Shay (results).

2ND COMPETITION FOR CROATIAN CHAMPIONSHIP - ZAGREB
19/04/2009

At the 2nd competition for the National Championship, held in Zagreb and organized by KOSSP Zagreb, I ran with Cita and Myf.
Judge was my dear agility friend and colleague from FCI agility committee, Bernd Hueppe.
In A2 class 1st place was won by Mateja Rutnik with our Syl's sister, Mawlch Sian, and in A3 class 2nd place was won by Miska Mracka with Mawlch Gera. Sincere congratulations!
With Myf I was DK in both runs, and with Cita I was DK in agility run and 3rd in jumping.
Our dear agility friend from Austria, Susi Novak, owner of Myf's sister Minn, also participated in this competition (results).

JUDGING IN HUNGARY
18/04/2009

My agility friend, Anna Eifert, invited me to judge 3rd round of Hungarian qualifications for their national agility team. Although the competition had open character, most of the competitors, that were participating, were the ones that pretend to the membership in the Hungarian team.
I judged three runs.

Jumping course

Jumping course was set up first, followed by two agility runs.

First agility course

The weather was really nice and my hosts were very kind.

Second agility course

1ST COMPETITION FOR CROATIAN CHAMPIONSHIP - KUTINA
29/03/2009

At the first competition for the Croatian Championship, organized by the Dog Club Kutina, I ran with Cita and Myf.
With Myf I was first in both agility (video) and jumping run (video).

A3 Large (Mona and Ana went home early so they aren't on the picture)

In agility run Cita slipped from the see-saw, she knocked one jump (bar) and passed under another. In jumping she was DK.
Second in A3 Large class was Mona, Myf's aunt.

A2 Large

It was nice that in A2 Large class there were two Mawlch dogs on the podium - first-placed Mario and his Sky and third-placed Ivana and her Graa. Sincere congratulations to all! (results)

AGILITY SEMINAR IN GALGAMÁCSA
21-22/03/2009

I was invited by my agility friend Zsuzsa Veres to hold the two-day-long seminar in Hungary, in Galgamácsa, to be more precise. Zsuzsi is herself a proud owner of two Croatian Sheepdogs.
I really enjoyed working with the handlers, which most of I knew from before, and I also hope that they were satisfied with my lectures. Although most of participants understood English, I'm very grateful to Zsuzsi and others, like Rebeka and János, who helped with English-Hungarian translations (my Hungarian isn't so good yet :-)).

AGILITY SEMINAR IN BALOGUNYOM
07-08/03/2009

I came to Balogunyom on invitation of János Gruber, dear agility friend from Hungary. János was coming to my trainings in Zagreb with Peace, his young Border Collie (Peace is Myf's nephew). During these trainings he expressed a wish that I come and have agility seminar in his dog club.
Handlers in the seminar were both real beginners and really experienced ones, so it was interesting adjust seminar to both of them. I hope I managed to show them my approach to agility training and dog handling. I will be happy if they will be able to use some of what I passed on in their further training.
And I'm particularly proud of my self for managing to learn few words of Hungarian.

SLOVENIAN WINTER CUP - PRESTRANEK
31/01/2009

At the second Winter cup competition in Slovenia, that was held in riding hall in Prestranek near Postojna, I ran with Cita and Myf. That was the first competition for Myf after she had puppies, and she practically didn't even train from last year's World Championship in Helsinki.
Besides our mistakes (in agility run Myf had one and Cita two mistakes; in jumping both Myf and Cita had one mistake) Myf gained 4th place in overall placement, and Cita 11th.
In the same class Polona Bonac was 3rd in jumping with her Mawlch Shay.
In A1 Large class Polona was first with Rudi's sister Kisha, and Rosana Krajnc and her Liwa (Mawlch Becca) had their agility debut.
In A2 class Mario Sprah was, with Mawlch Sky, first in jumping run and won overall 2nd place. Sincere congratulations! (results).
